Her motivation and desire to help others in the community stems from the fact that she is a second generation South Asian, coming from a long line of immigrants herself. She is actively involved in volunteering within the Pakistani and Indian community throughout Houston and the surrounding areas.

Michael W. Hanten is native Texan and has been practicing law in both Texas and the federal courts. Upon graduating from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2000, Mr. Hanten studied international law in Sweden where he received his LLM in Comparative and International Law from the University of Stockholm in 2001, cum laude. In 2003, Mr. Hanten returned to Texas where he established Hanten & Associates, PLLC. His main areas of practice are civil litigation, criminal law, and family law. He is licensed by the State Bar of Texas and in Federal Courts, including United States District & Bankruptcy Courts and Southern District of Texas.
